ATmega and ATtiny converters

The Atnel company add to offer converters of processors which are in smaller housing than DIP40, such as ATmega8, ATtiny2313 or ATtiny13. They are adapted to cooperation with ATB kits every version. Thanks to our solution every interested user can do tests in these small microcontrollers not loosing advantages of work basing on a start-up kit. Additional advantages of our converters and actually the things that differentiate them from other similar competitive products are amenities for user if he uses them in our start-up kits. Below you will find detailed schemes of the converters. After their analyzes you can notice that using them in the start-up kit exempt the user from necessity to connect using wires the most important signals of microcontrollers related to significant communication buses such as RS232 or I2C or SPI and not only. Moreover, the microcontrollers placed on the converters board can freely use an external crystal oscillator which is already placed in the kit they can also use an infrared receiver TSOP. It is an invaluable advantage because on the one hand to buil a prototype we use much less connection wires and on the other hand we get much better clarity of the entire tested project. Any converter Is equipped from the bottom with two rows of pins which we place in a socket of the microcontroller in DIP40 housing (e.g. ATmega32) and on the top beyond the microcontroller, the converter is equipped with a socket or precision sockets and thanks to which we can easily replace the microcontroller many times without worry about damaging them. On the sides there are gold pin headers placed which allow to freely pins use of every port of used microcontroller for further work in the start-up kit. Additionally the converters are usually equipped with two or three jumpers thanks to which we can decide if we use pins responsible for external crystal oscillator connection as typical pins In/Ou – if we use clocking with inside RC oscillator or we want to connect the oscillator. The third jumper is only in case of the smallest microcontrollers ATtiny series, which allows for freely use of RESET pin. Normally it is always closed so first of all we can program the microcontrollers using ISP.

Both types of the converters have also on their boards the power supply filtering capacitors, placed close to power pins VCC and GND. These are capacitors pairs (tantalum 10-22uF and ceramic 100nF). It is very important feature thanks to which an user will avoid an accidental reset of the microcontroller in a socket, while its outputs control higher current loads e.g. LED diodes.

Converter types on our offer

Supported microcontrollers: ATmega8/48/88/168/328 Supported microcontrollers: ATtiny2313 andATtiny13/15/25/45/85 and similar

ATTENTION! The converter has two sockets for two different microcontrollers but ONLY one of them can be placed for tests , never both at the same time

Because of small error crept into one of our PCB ATtiny converters series (reversed pins PORTB description for ATtiny13 microcontroller) please find below correct marking – highlighted in red. Correct PORTB pins numbers.
